Down East Quilters Guild (affiliated with the state wide guild – Pine Tree Quilters) will be celebrating National Quilting Day at the Library. There will be sewing/quilting demonstrations and some quilts on display.

Porter Memorial Library will hold an EASTER EGG HUNT inside the library at 92 Court Street in Machias. We have 2 divisions. Kids ages 3 to 6 start their hunt at 11 am. The 2nd division, for kids ages 7 to 10, starts at 11:30 am.
Starting line is the library front door, so gather outside, in front of the library, and listen carefully for the Easter Bunny’s instructions. Please try to bring your own basket or container to hold your egg collection. Call 255-3933 for more information.
WE NEED DONATIONS OF CANDY FOR THIS EVENT! Please bring Easter candy donations to the library by Friday, April 15.

YOUTH ART EXHIBIT DURING MAY 2022
Inviting local youth ages ages 3-17 to display art at PORTER MEMORIAL LIBRARY during MAY 2022
Please bring in your art:
Artists: Local youth ages 3 to 17
What to submit: Artist may submit up to 3 pieces
Flat pieces may be framed or not
3-D pieces will be accepted
Where to drop off: Porter Memorial Library
92 Court Street in Machias
When to drop: Tue-Fri 10-5, and Sat 10-1
Last date to submit: Thursday, April 28, 2022
